Conclusions

Testing this helmet has been fun for two reasons: it was easy and wearing on my head was always enjoyable.

IT was easy because the better is the product, so easier is my job. The Manta is one of the top of the range at the time I am writing. The Trenta 3K Carbon (so named in honor of the thirty years of the Company) is coming to the summit, and it’s useless to say I immediately put my name down to test it 😀

The finish level of this Manta is excellent, the fitting is precise and comfortable, the ventilation system is effective: in short, nothing has disappointed me or drove me crazy. By far it’s the first test where the defects’ column is blank. Just a note on the gel pad and the fact it doesn’t hold the sweat, but this is not a defect, it’s the material.

It was nice because it’s very light, well ventilated and because, as when I am on the bike I feel like a child, I felt like Cavendish 😀

The average selling price is between 150 and 160 Euros, absolutely correct for the quality offered. If I put on the balance plate, beyond the quality, it’s the case to say, its extreme lightness, then it becomes a bargain compared to other helmets in the same price range.

The potential audience is less wide than the Strale, produced by the same Company, but larger than I thought before receiving the helmet to test. Of course the sport cyclists are the target. I leave out the tourist ones: however the ventilation is effective, if you ride at a low pace, you need a wide frontal grip, little to add.

Bu not all sport cyclists are the same: for athletic training and performance. This is not a helmet for those who consider the speed on the level ground their cyclism’characteristic. Any cyclist who loves pedaling in a sport way will be comfortable with this helmet. The torrid heat is the only thing that can make you feel the lack of a front intake, otherwise you pedal very well, as if you wear a helmet all-open. Any cyclist who loves the care for details, of the bike and the clothing, will appreciate the remarkable aerodynamic research done by the Met Helmets’ technicians.

Then, after all of this, we add the saving of the watts, which I don’t know to quantify but the wind tunnel has proven there, even better.

But whatever it’s an aerodynamic helmet or an all-open helmet, what really matters is its quality and the fact that we wear it. This helmet or another one, never mind: helmet on your head, all the time.
